Now live on NBA2K’s media channels, both in game and online, this 8-part series provides a platform for athletes to openly discuss the many social issues that came to a head in 2020. Composed of 3 unique mini-series, the content highlights voting rights, athlete activism throughout history, as well as candid open letters penned by the athletes themselves. The series featured Carmelo Anthony, Trae Young, Candace Parker, and more.

Good Fake produced the live action, editorial, design and animation for the entire series.

Told with a mix of live action and motion graphics, Respect Your OGs features four current athletes telling the stories of their own activism as well as the stories of the OG athletes who paved the way. Athlete pairings include: Jaylen Brown/Bill Russell, Candace Parker/Lisa Leslie, Mo Bamba/Elgin Baylor, and Kyle Korver/Craig Hodges.

Sincerely Yours features NBA stars Carmelo Anthony, Trae Young, and Kyle Kuzma each reading open letters to their fans. The simple production was designed to feel raw and intimate with the athletes speaking directly to camera. We then elevated the simple footage with a graphics treatment which utilized rough hand drawn elements to further emphasize the DIY, candid, nature of this series.

Created in conjunction with More Than A Vote, this mini series was released in the run up to the 2020 general election. Utilizing a mix of cel animation and live action interviews, this mini-series features Maria Taylor and Trae Young as they share their personal experiences with voting and why the right to vote is so important to them. We also produced an accompanying motion graphics piece that tells the rocky history of voting rights in America.
